"The small child at dancing class may never become a professional dancer ~ but the courtesies and disciplines, as well as the joy in movement, will touch that child forever."
~ Helen Thomson

a Creative Ballet Class
Children will enjoy this
exciting and entertaining dance class that
introduces classic ballet fundamentals and French ballet terminology,
while they develop poise, correct body alignment, and positive
self-image. Dancers experience classical ballet through imaginative
stories, fun exercises and creative movement. We focus on traditional
techniques to properly strengthen the dancers’ bodies while building
their self-confidence. Specific techniques covered will include a
thorough warm-up, body alignment, simple musical rhythms, correct and
safe execution of steps, center floor combinations and diagonal floor
patterns. Classical and contemporary children’s music will inspire
dancers’ artistic creativity and movement. Each session ends with an
in-class family/friend observation.

dance games are used to inspire the dancers in this stimulating class.
Dancers learn about spatial awareness and sharing space with others,
practice locomotive skills such as jumping, leaping, turning, hopping,
walking, and discover body awareness by coordinating bending, stretching
and balancing. This energetic class develops healthy and strong body
alignment while dancers gain valuable skills that provide a strong
foundation for life-long learning. Each session ends with an in-class
family/friend observation.
